World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of an item can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and boost additional stats.
Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to how many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.
Item level is a widely used measure of power, and can be seen on all item tooltips. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.
When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear players can evaluate the levels of the item. It's a good gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it is capable of causing. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating the inventory of a seller.
On PC, you can check the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full description of the item, as well as its value. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory states that the level of an item is determined by formulas that determine how valuable the stats of an item really are. item upgrade takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
However, this isn't the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, since the size of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, such as by adding an amount to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
Stats on an item are a significant element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the best." The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves increased by the player's skill.
Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.
Another method to alter the stats of an item is by affixing it. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all sizes and shapes. Affixes can do things like give the item additional damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item.
All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.
In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat within the same range, unless it's a unique item, or the item is a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
This is another aspect that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items wouldn't show all possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items as well as the properties spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves and is thus more useful in early game runs than in later ones, as most players prioritize more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. They can also be increased by using anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can be created or spawned by using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of an item up to 140.
Additionally some items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shops or made using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items can be expensive and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to how much the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%..
The Luck of an item can also influence the success of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases that chance by five percent.
The upgrade overlays for items are rendered above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
